Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 22, 2026

Ends Meet is operated by Useful Tools LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company (“Useful Tools,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Ends Meet helps you plan paychecks and bills. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we use it, when we disclose it, and the choices available to you.

We do not show ads, sell personal information, or share personal information for targeted advertising.

1. Information we collect

Account information

If you create an account, we collect your email address so you can sign in and sync across devices. Authentication is handled by Supabase, our authentication provider.

Budget information

We store the information you choose to enter, such as income, paycheck amounts and dates, bills, credit cards, planned savings or investment contributions, payees, due dates, paid or moved status, goals, notes, and app preferences. Ends Meet does not connect to your bank and does not ask for bank login credentials, passwords, routing numbers, or full account numbers.

If you choose to enable work-history insights, you can start work history and save every work session without adding a work area. A session may include the income source, date, optional approximate start time and hours, total-derived base pay, tips, incentives, direct work costs, and cash-flow allocations. Each cash-flow part records an amount and a state: available now, earned and arriving, or included in a paycheck. An availability date is stored when applicable. If you choose to enter a five-digit work-area ZIP code, it is immediately converted on your device to a coarse work-area code, such as 282xx. Only that coarse code may be saved or synced; the exact ZIP code is not saved or synced. Ends Meet does not request or use GPS or device Location Services for this feature. If you sign in, the information from this feature that syncs with your account is limited to any optional coarse work-area code you add, work sessions, and the feature setting version and timestamps. Ends Meet uses those records to show recommendations based only on your own historical work sessions. We do not pool this information with other users, use it to show live demand or current market pay, or contribute it to community benchmarks.

If you choose statement import, a supported CSV, OFX, QFX, or text export is parsed on your device to suggest repeat payments and money moves. The source file and pasted transaction text are not uploaded, saved, logged, or sent to an AI provider. Suggestions begin unselected. Only records you review and add become part of your budget and follow the normal device-storage or account-sync rules described in this policy.

Some features may be used without an account. In that case, the information for those features may remain on your device unless you choose to sync or otherwise send it to us.

Optional voice entry

Voice entry is optional. In the iOS and Android apps, Ends Meet starts its in-app microphone only when the device reports that on-device speech recognition is available for the selected language. The native app uses that on-device recognition path. Useful Tools does not receive, upload, or store voice audio through this feature. If on-device recognition is unavailable, the in-app microphone does not start and you can use keyboard dictation or type instead.

On the website, voice entry uses speech recognition supplied by your browser or operating system when available. That browser or operating-system provider may process voice audio under its own terms, privacy policy, and settings. Ends Meet receives the resulting transcript, not an audio recording, and does not store voice audio. Keyboard dictation is likewise provided by your device, operating system, or keyboard provider. In every case, a transcript you submit follows the same processing rules as text you type, including the optional AI disclosure below when you choose an AI feature.

Usage, device, and operational information

We collect basic information about how the app is used and performs, such as features used, interactions, timestamps, app or device version, account or device identifiers, error information, and security or abuse-prevention events. If you use weekly planning, we save the IANA time-zone identifier reported by your device, such as America/New_York, so a weekly read can run on the start day you chose in your local calendar. A time-zone identifier may indicate a broad region, but Ends Meet does not request GPS or precise device location for this purpose. The identifier is not used for tracking. If you opt into native notifications, we store a push registration token tied to your signed-in account and app installation so we can deliver those notifications. Opting out removes that token when the device makes it available, and deleting your account removes its active-system record. We use this information to operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the app. We do not use it to track you across unrelated apps or websites.

Support communications

If you contact us, we collect the information you provide, such as your email address, message, and any attachments or troubleshooting details.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

3. AI features

When you use Money Talk, the weekly read, or another AI feature, a summary of the budget information needed for the request, such as income, bills, goals, and preferences, is sent through our server to Google Gemini, with Groq used as a fallback, to generate a response.

Money Talk may suggest a short next step based on the conversation. A suggestion is not added automatically. If you choose Save next step, the text is stored with your budget until you mark it done, remove it, or delete your account. Saved next steps are not treated as bills, payments, reminders, or proof that an action occurred.

Useful Tools does not use your information to train its own AI models. Third-party providers process information under their own terms, privacy policies, and service settings. AI features are optional. If you do not use them, we do not send your budget information to an AI provider for that purpose.

The optional work-history feature does not send your coarse work-area code, session timing or duration, session earnings or costs, cash-flow states, cash-flow part amounts or applicable dates, payout date, or feature-setting information to Gemini, Groq, or another AI provider. Its personal historical recommendations are calculated from the records you enter. An income-source name remains part of your ordinary budget information and may be included in the budget summary sent only when you choose to use an AI feature, as described above.

4. When we disclose information

Service providers

We use service providers to host data, authenticate users, provide infrastructure, provide analytics and operational support, and generate AI responses. These providers may process information only for the services they provide to us, subject to their agreements and applicable law.

At your direction

We disclose information when you direct us to do so, such as when you use an AI feature, sync information, export content, or share information outside the service.

Legal, safety, and enforcement reasons

We may disclose information if we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of users, Useful Tools, or others; investigate fraud or abuse; or enforce our agreements.

Business transaction

If Useful Tools is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be disclosed as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections and applicable law.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising.

5. Data retention and deletion

We keep account and budget information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may delete your account from inside the app by opening Account and selecting Delete account.

Any coarse work-area code you chose to add and synced work-session history are retained with the active account until you remove the information or delete the account. If you turn off work-history insights, Ends Meet removes the synced work area and sessions and retains only a minimal withdrawal marker, consisting of a setting generation and withdrawal time, so an older offline copy cannot restore deleted history. Account deletion removes that active-system marker too, subject to the limited exceptions below. Exact five-digit work-area ZIP codes are not retained.

Operational records are intentionally bounded. Raw capture misses are deleted after 30 days. Notification history is deleted after 30 days. AI usage records and content-free app-open activity are deleted after 90 days.

Account deletion removes active account and budget data, subject to limited exceptions. Some information may remain for a limited period in backups, security logs, transaction records, or records we must retain to comply with law, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce agreements. Encrypted backups may remain for up to 90 days. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected.

Information stored only on your device remains there until you delete it, clear the app's storage, or remove the app, depending on your device and backup settings.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information based on the nature of the information and the service. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for using a strong password, protecting your credentials, and securing your device and exported copies.

7. Your choices and privacy rights

You can update certain account information, decide whether to create an account, choose whether to use AI features, complete or remove saved Money Talk next steps, decline or turn off work-history insights, remove any saved work session, change or remove budget entries, and delete your account.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, or to object to or limit certain processing. We will honor verified requests as required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

To make a privacy request, email Calvin@endsmeet.app. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authority and verification of the user's identity.

Because we do not use personal information for targeted advertising or sell it, we do not offer an advertising opt-out. We do not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals. Where legally required, we will honor recognized opt-out preference signals for processing to which they apply.

8. Children

Ends Meet is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create accounts or submit personal information. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without required authorization, we will delete it as required by law. Contact us if you believe this occurred.

9. International processing

Useful Tools is based in the United States. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Those countries may have data protection laws different from the laws where you live. By using the service, you understand that information may be processed in these locations, subject to applicable law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service, vendors, or law changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a change is material and applicable law requires it. Your continued use after the effective date is subject to the updated policy, but we will seek consent when required.
